My sight, liquefies as the sun rays shatter my eyes
The rays are searing my skin boiling the essence within
The atmosphere is fading life force further degrading
Heat beats down hard on the soul
The skin full of blisters and blackening
Civilization seems so far away from me

How I’d kill for some shade or shelter
There’s no escaping this

Empty husks of skin and bones is this what becomes of us?
Collapsed and exhausted, I cry at the sky
The essence fragmented beyond repair
no glory in my core is seething
hate, remorse, disdain
structural integrity below safe margins

A wreckage in this desert of concrete

Imagine rain pouring down on my skin
Soothes my burns and reliefs me within
I’ll find strength, I won’t give in
Tomorrow rejuvenates

Dehydration is wearing my skin thin as paper
Deluded by thoughts that can’t be real
dragging my body
